Dr. Eirini Kalliamvakou, a senior researcher at GitHub and member of the Developer Velocity lab, investigates what boosts or hinders engineering productivity. She is an expert qualitative researcher who works with data scientists to understand and define the developer experience—and the workflows, tools, and practices that drive success for organizations, teams, and individual developers. Her research has inspired prototypes, training programs, and playbooks that have changed the state of practice within best-in-class tech companies, from Microsoft and IBM to GitHub and Atlassian.

Dr. Kalliamvakou received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Victoria. Her award-winning research has been published in the top software engineering peer-reviewed venues, including the Empirical Software Engineering journal, the International Conference on Software Engineering, and the IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering journal.
