GitHub Universe—the premier event for the global developer community—took place virtually on October 27 and 28, 2021. Head over to the content library to watch all of the talks from both days of the event. Just register with your GitHub account for access.

In addition to the livestream and keynotes, Universe 2021 offered a variety of ways for attendees to engage, learn, and connect:

  • Interactive sessions—live Q&As, workshops, and more—were available in PDT, CEST and IST timezone friendly blocks.
  • Forty on demand sessions were unlocked following the keynote on October 27 (PDT) so you can dive deeper into topics at your own pace, on your own time.
  • Beyond Universe programming offered opportunities to connect in think tanks, mentoring sessions, focus groups, and more.

Universe is for anyone involved in software development. No matter where you are in your software journey, you’ll find content at Universe for you. Program content is designed around two core areas:

  • Developer: geared towards open source contributors and maintainers running projects of all sizes, as well as developers looking to understand the latest software tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Enterprise: tailored for senior leaders and decision-makers from global companies interested in transformation, security, scalability, and productivity.

Choose from sessions that cover topics including, DevOps, security, developer productivity, and the open source community. Whoever you are, wherever you are, GitHub Universe welcomes you.

All of the session videos in our content library will be available for 30 days after Universe—plenty of time for you to dig in. Register using your GitHub credentials to gain full access to our library of sessions.

To view our on demand content library, just register for Universe using your GitHub account. It's completely free and you'll gain access to all Universe content.

If you're still having trouble, do note that our on demand content is hosted on YouTube. If your country has placed restrictions on YouTube, you may not be able to view the videos.

The interactive sessions were recorded and select sessions will be posted for on demand viewing the week after Universe. Registered attendees will be notified when sessions are available. Stay tuned!

We took all of the latest standards into consideration, both as we designed the website and built out content. GitHub Universe took the following steps:

  • Githubuniverse.com meets AAA standards
  • All speakers were provided with guidelines for presentations
  • Closed captioning for all livestream and on demand content was available
  • Live audio translation in Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Russian, Mandarin and Japanese was available for the main livestream
  • We offered a virtual focus space for taking a break from deep engagement
